In today’s knowledge-based economy, intellectual property (IP) is the key element required for effective competition in a global market. Taiwan’s high-tech industry has expressed a strong desire to procure globally-valued intellectual property (United States, Europe, Japan, and more.) in order to expand in the global market. Technology Transfer Center (TTC) has taken a key role in this regard by providing the patent transaction services at Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in Taiwan.
In the past 8 years (2003-2010), TTC has sold more than 2200 patents to domestic industries, helping foreign patent-sellers find buyers in Taiwan while at the same time helping local companies acquire the necessary IP protection to enter new markets. With more than thirty-five years serving thousands of local companies, ITRI has built up a reservoir of respect and trust that helps the patent trading process run quickly and smoothly.
